SCI-Arc Mexico City pairs SCI-Arc’s renowned innovation with the vibrancy of Mexico City.
SCI-Arc Mexico City
SCI-Arc Mexico City’s satellite is represented in the design hub in the up-and-coming neighborhood of Juarez right in the heart of Mexico City and provides a platform for cutting-edge discussion of design. With international studios, exhibitions, conferences and symposia, SCI-Arc Mexico hosts programs that pair the practice of innovation and experimentation renowned of our Los Angeles campus with Mexico City’s dynamic creative community.
This satellite location brings together local architects, artists, and scholars along with SCI-Arc faculty and students to engage with the global conversation surrounding design in the context of Mexico City. In addition to hosting its own events and programs, SCI-Arc Mexico City sponsors and participates in the annual festival, Mextropoli, producing installations, a gallery show, and panel discussions as the city prepares to challenge our understanding of architecture and the urban environment. This is partnered with a studio exchange between a SCI-Arc Vertical Studio and students of Ibero-American University that provides students with the opportunity to meet in both Mexico City and Los Angeles to engage in an open dialogue about issues central to their work.
To accompany SCI-Arc Mexico City’s events and programs, SCI-Arc offers the BECA SCI-Arc Mexico, a scholarship that covers 100% of tuition costs for a Mexican citizen entering either the M.Arch 2 or EDGE program. More details about the scholarship and application process are available here.
