Gary Riichirō Fox is an architectural historian, educator, and Assistant Curator of Architecture at the Getty Research Institute. He has curated widely: at MAK Center for Art and Architecture, he recently co-curated the centennial exhibition Schindler House, 100 Years in the Making, the research for which was supported by a Graham Foundation grant. At Getty Research Institute, he co-curated the exhibitions Bauhaus Beginnings and Bauhaus: Building the New Artist and is currently curating research and exhibition projects concerning the architectural criticism of Ada Louise Huxtable; the material cultures of physical and digital modeling in architectural design practices; and the architecture of Paul R. Williams, the latter of which represents a multi-institutional collaboration between the GRI, USC School of Architecture, and LACMA. Fox serves on the Program Board of Materials & Applications, an independent, Los Angeles-based architecture organization, and he currently leads graduate history/theory seminars at UCLA and at SCI-Arc. Fox obtained his PhD in History of Architecture at University of California, Los Angeles; prior, he completed a BA at Yale University and an MA at the Architectural Association School of Architecture.
