SCI-Arc Alumni Mix and Mingle at the the AIA Taipei’s “Creativity Beyond Conventions” Event
SCI-Arc alumni joined the AIA Taipei for its “Creativity Beyond Conventions” event, showcasing their innovation and expertise in the architectural field. The event, held earlier this month as part of the AIA POPUP Salon Talk series, provided a unique opportunity for alumni to connect and mingle while exploring new ideas and collaborations.
With a diverse group of alumni spanning over three decades, including alumni working at renowned offices like Zaha Hadid Architects and Kengo Kuma & Associates, the event boasted an array of talent and experience.
Attendees were treated to a stimulating panel discussion, followed by networking opportunities over food and drinks. The panelists included Jr Gang Chi (Professor, Shih Chien University), Jeanne Lee (Ming Chuan University, Associate Dean of School of Design), Jenny Ling (President of AIA Taipei, Professor, Tamkang University), Elena Manferdini (SCI-Arc Graduate Programs Chair, Atelier Manferdini Principal), Jenny Wu (SCI-Arc Senior Design Faculty, Oyler Wu Collaborative).
The talk provided a platform for educators, students, and professional practitioners to exchange ideas and discuss how they have expanded their practices to embrace other design industries. The panel discussion outlined how a multidisciplinary approach to pedagogical curricula has fostered a culture of innovation within various Universities and Institutes based in Taipei and Los Angeles. Panelists also lectured on how they have been able to integrate diverse perspectives and expertise within their current professional practice to produce fresh aesthetic solutions, address contemporary challenges and push the boundaries of design.
