SCI-Arc Hosts Youth Creativity Summit for High School Students
On Friday, March 2, SCI-Arc hosted a Youth Creativity Summit as part of its community outreach initiative.
With the goal to create engaged, empowered, and informed future leaders, the summit marked the first collaborative event between SCI-Arc, the Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD), and Community Works, a Los Angeles–based creative youth development organization.
Organized by LAUSD’s Arts Education Branch and Community Works, the summit at SCI-Arc is part of a national series of youth creativity summits aimed at demonstrating the power of creativity for problem-solving and future planning.
The day-long event attracted 250 high school students who engaged in hands-on workshops, activities, and storytelling sessions facilitated by SCI-Arc and other partners, including Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA), Get Lit – Words Ignite, Inner-City Arts, LA Commons, Las Fotos Project, Social And Public Resource Center (SPARC), Two Bit Circus, Versa-Style, WriteGirl/Bold Ink Writers, Young Producers Group, ArtworxLA, Akasa, and more.
