Title IX

SCI-Arc strives to provide a safe educational and working environment for its students, faculty, staff and other members of the Institutions’ community that is free of discrimination. With this in mind, it has enacted the Title IX, Equal Opportunity, Harassment and Non-Discrimination Policy in compliance with the Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972. Title IX is a federal law that prohibits excluding an individual from participating in educational programs and activities based on that person’s sex, gender identity and expression and sexual orientation. Sexual and gender based harassment (including sexual assault and rape) are forms of such discrimination.

SCI-Arc believes that all members of the SCI-Arc community should be free from acts of sexual misconduct, including sexual assault, sexual harassment and discrimination, sexual exploitation, relationship violence and stalking.

All members of the SCI-Arc community, including visitors are advised that any sexual misconduct by any student, employee, or third party is prohibited.

This policy prohibits conduct that occurs on campus or other Institutional property; and/or occurs in connection with SCI-Arc educational programs or activities, whether on or off-campus; or affects the SCI-Arc community. This Policy prohibits sexual misconduct by all third parties (including but not limited to visitors, guests, also volunteers and contractors) on campus and during institution activities.

SCI-Arc strives to provide prompt and equitable resolution of all complaints of sexual misconduct.

Title IX Process

Students, faculty, or staff members who believe that they are a victim of harassment, discrimination, and/or sexual misconduct should complete an Incident Report Form. The Title IX Coordinator is responsible for receiving and processing, reports from students, faculty, staff, and administrators regarding rights and responsibilities concerning sexual misconduct in violation of Title IX.

Any questions or complaints regarding Title IX may be referred to the Title IX Coordinator or to the Department of Education’s Office of Civil Rights.

Filing a Criminal Complaint: Students, faculty, and staff members have the right to file both a criminal complaint and a Title IX complaint simultaneously. To file a criminal complaint please contact the Los Angeles Police Department:
