The Southern California Institute of Architecture (SCI-Arc) is a dynamic, urban, non-profit institution dedicated to educating architects to engage, speculate, innovate, and to take the lead in reimagining the limits of architecture. SCI-Arc’s pedagogy is focused on preparing students to meet unique challenges in a fluid world, and to excel. Interested candidates for this position should be prepared to advise and lead in this endeavor.
Information and Responsibilities:
SCI-Arc is seeking candidates for Full-Time Faculty, beginning the 2018-2019 academic year. Primary teaching responsibility will be the instruction of Design Studios. Preferred applicants are also expected to have demonstrated experience teaching Applied Studies (building technology, systems, and construction), Visual Studies (drawing + representation, including advanced digital techniques) or History + Theory seminars.
Faculty responsibilities will include teaching Undergraduate and Graduate design studios, seminars, thesis advising, and service to the school.
Candidates must have professional experience in architectural design; demonstrate a record of recognized built or unbuilt projects, published theoretical writings, exhibitions, and other related creative work. Candidates must have an advanced degree in architecture. Professional licensure is preferred.
