The Kappe Library is one of the most important and beloved elements of the SCI-Arc experience. As the largest academic library in Southern California focused on architecture, it is meaningful not only to SCI-Arc students, faculty, and alumni, but also to the broader design community. By participating in Honor With Books, you can pay lasting tribute to a special person while supporting SCI-Arc’s Kappe Library.
With a minimum gift of $100, the Kappe Library will acquire a new publication and your tribute will be recognized on a bookplate inside the volume.
Your contribution ensures that the Kappe Library can acquire new architecture and design publications, maintaining SCI-Arc’s robust collection. Meanwhile, your loved one, friend, mentor, or colleague will be remembered for years to come each time a student, faculty member, or outside architectural researcher uses the resource. Funds not fully spent on new acquisitions will support general library needs.
Honor With Books provides an opportunity for our supporters to recognize birthdays, graduations, career milestones, weddings, anniversaries, and memorials.
Alumni hoping to honor a faculty member, parents celebrating their child’s graduation, or anyone wishing to support the Kappe Library may contribute at one of the following levels:
- $100 to dedicate one newly purchased publication
- $500 to dedicate six newly purchased publications
When donors support Honor With Books:
- A bookplate will be printed with the donor and honoree’s names and placed in a new acquisition in the Kappe Library.
- An acknowledgment letter will be sent to the donor and the honoree, or their family.
