Academic Advising
SCI-Arc provides personalized advising for all students. Academic Advisors collaborate with students to proactively foster their educational and personal growth. They offer accurate and personalized academic information, guide students on their academic responsibilities, and assist in making well-informed decisions about their education.
The office of the Registrar/International Advisor serves all students with particular emphasis on the international population. With over half the total student population coming from over 90 countries, all F-1 and J-1 students and scholars are supported through their academic journey. The office offers personal, one-on-one meetings with students to assist in their overall academic planning with particular emphasis on their immigration status, gap year planning and adjusting to life in the USA.
As an Alumni, F-1 students may apply for Optional Practical Training (OPT) and are eligible to apply for the Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) extension. Combined, these benefits offer up to three years of work experience in the USA.
The office collaborates with a qualified immigration attorney on workshops that provide in-depth discussion on OPT/STEM benefits and provides critical advising on all immigration related inquiries.
