The program learning outcomes are premised on the thesis that contemporary urban design is a research-based practice requiring both technical knowledge and cultural understanding. The curriculum is designed to develop correlations between urban theories and observable evidence gathered through field research to develop compelling possibilities for the contemporary city.

PLO 1. A demonstrable ability to deliver innovative urban design on a project basis to the highest standards of contemporary urban research and practice.

PLO 2. A demonstrable ability to effectively represent and communicate project intentions commensurate with current standards of urban research and practice.

PLO 3. A demonstrable ability to effectively collaborate.

PLO 4. Technical mastery of hardware and software used in contemporary urban research and practice.

PLO 5. Development of a theoretical framework within which contemporary urban phenomena can be understood within a broader critical and historical context.
