Alumni Association

The creative impact of SCI-Arc alumni is found all over the world, in a variety of fields, in innovative designs, products, and publications. While most SCI-Arc graduates work in architectural firms or in private practice, many excel in a range of other fields including multimedia, teaching, exhibition design, film and set design, architectural photography, retail design, public art, publishing, community development and planning, writing and research, landscape design, furniture design, and graphic and product design.

SCI-Arc alumni maintain a strong relationship with the school through the Alumni Association. Established in 1998, the association works to identify and meet the needs of the alumni, and to serve the larger interests of the school. The Alumni Association seeks to build the alumni community, to promote the work of alumni, to educate alumni and current students, and to support SCI-Arc. Among the association's various activities and projects are alumni-driven publications; the establishment of the SCI-Arc Alumni Association Scholarship Fund, which awards two scholarships each year (one to an undergraduate and one to a graduate student); the production of the Main Event scholarship fundraiser; the sponsorship of an alumni lecturer in the SCI-Arc lecture series; a career open house for alumni firms interested in hiring SCI-Arc graduates; and regular friend-raising and networking events, including the Moveable Feast, designed to bring the alumni community together.

The Alumni Association also works closely with SCI-Arc to maintain an updated database of alumni contact information, so that both the school and the association can remain in close contact with alumni as they pursue their careers all over the world.

Please email a press release or news posting plus a .jpg file no bigger than 450x300px at 72dpi to news@sciarc.edu . You may also send websites that feature your work to be included with the posting.

To submit work:

We can post up to six images of your work to the Alumni Work section of the SCI-Arc website. Please upload a folder bearing your name to the SCI-Arc ftp site (ftp://ftp.sciarc.edu; username: sciarc_ftp / password: sciarc). The folder must contain up to 6 jpgs (1200 x 800px [horizontal orientation] at 72dpi) plus a Word document listing the captions for each image. You can also collage smaller images into one jpg. The ftp site deletes all files within 48 hours of upload, so you must email news@sciarc.edu to let the news editor know your work is on the ftp site.
