SCI-Arc is arranging an engaging weekend to mark the milestone of its 40th anniversary. We hope you will join us and (re)connect with alumni, trustees, former and current faculty, students and friends.

Undergraduate Thesis Presentations
Join the SCI-Arc community and invited guest jurors for the annual undergraduate thesis review and show. Thesis projects on view represent the culmination of five years of study and coursework leading to the Bachelor of Architecture degree.

"Fridays at Five" Alumni Cocktail Reception
6-8pm on SCI-Arc Campus
The SCI-Arc Alumni Council invites alumni and faculty to reconnect and celebrate the on-campus opening of the 40/40 Alumni Exhibition during a special “Fridays at Five” Alumni Cocktail Reception. Benefit Dinner

After-Party & Spring Show Preview
9pm-midnight on SCI-Arc Campus
Everybody knows that good stuff starts after dark at SCI-Arc. Get in on the action at SCI-Arc's 40th Anniversary After Party ("the more fun party" according to the Urban Dictionary). Come celebrate 40 years of experimentation and innovation with the SCI-Arc community in the heart of downtown L.A. The school's Merrick parking lot will transform into a party with DJ, drinks and food.

Check out the outdoor pavilion designed by faculty members Jenny Wu and Dwayne Oyler of Oyler Wu Collaborative. And get a sneak peek at SCI-Arc's eighth annual Spring Show with student work from all programs on view throughout campus.

A Confederacy of Heretics: The Architecture Gallery, Venice, 1979
This exhibition, which will be on view in the SCI-Arc Gallery & Library during SCI-Arc's 40th celebration weekend, explores a series of exhibitions, lectures, and reviews surrounding the Architecture Gallery, originally located at the Venice home of Pritzker Prize–winning architect and SCI-Arc founder Thom Mayne. In existence for just ten weeks, from October to December 1979, this pop-up gallery featured new work by then-emerging architects Frank Gehry, Eric Owen Moss, Studio Works (Craig Hodgetts and Robert Mangurian), Eugene Kupper, Roland Coate, Frederick Fisher, Frank Dimster, Peter de Bretteville and Morphosis (Thom Mayne and Michael Rotondi).
