Darin Johnstone Exhibits in A+D Museum Hosted Drylands Show

SCI-Arc faculty member Darin Johnstone, of Darin Johnstone Architecture, exhibits his "Net Gain: Hybrid Developments for Arid Futures" project in the Drylands Design group exhibition hosted at the A+D Museum in Los Angeles. The project is developed in collaboration with Herrera Environmental Design Consultants.

Opening with a reception at the A+D Museum on Thursday, March 22, 6-9pm, Drylands Design features work by architects, landscape architects, engineers, and urban designers responding to the challenges of water scarcity in the face of climate change. With a focus on Western US, the show includes a portfolio of adaptive strategies large and small, rural and urban, high tech and low-carbon. It explores a range of approaches for how buildings and parks, houses and streets, industry and agriculture, cities and neighborhoods might be adapted to face a drought-prone future.

A SCI-Arc design faculty member since 2002 and a Los Angeles based architect, Darin Johnstone directs and teaches in the DID program along with other SCI-Arc design and visual studies faculty and undergraduate teaching assistants.

Drylands Design will remain on view through April 26. The A+D Museum is located at 6032 Wilshire Blvd.
