Students Win Top Awards at AIA|LA 2x8

SCI-Arc students Yu Nong Khew (M.Arch '09) and John Klein (B.Arch '10) are winners in the 2010 edition of the 2x8 student competition hosted by the AIA Los Angeles.

Themed 2x8: Verge, this year's competition featured an exhibition at Dwell on Design and culminated with a public reception on Saturday, May 26.

The AIA|LA-sponsored event showcases student work from architecture and design institutions throughout California. Each year, participating schools—including SCI-Arc, UCLA and USC—submit two student projects.

Both SCI-Arc submissions were awarded this year and students received a scholarship from the AIA|LA. Khew was presented an Award of Honor and a $2,000 scholarship, while Klein received an Award of Distinction and a $1,000 prize.
